Common questions

Blocking is not blocking anything

Blocking needs three things: Screen Time authorization (Winston asks the first time you turn it on), at least one focus period covering the current time, and the period switched on. Apps you have chosen as allowed stay open by design — everything else is shielded.

Do I have to sign in?

No. Winston works fully without an account. Signing in with Apple exists so your data can be reached from another device and survives losing this one — without it, everything lives on this device alone and cannot be recovered if the app is deleted.

How do I delete my data?

Tap the icon in the top right of the Today screen, then Delete all my data. It is immediate and permanent, and needs no request to anyone.

Can I see what the app looks like with content in it?

Yes — About you → Load sample data adds a few example goals, habits and focus periods. They are ordinary entries and can be edited or deleted like your own.

What language does Winston use?

It follows your iPhone's language, and currently ships in English and Portuguese. You can change it in Settings, under Winston.

Privacy

Winston has no ads, no analytics about you, and nothing to sell. The privacy policy sets out exactly what it stores and how to remove it.
